Subject:
[Freesurfer] Error connecting Ubuntu 18 to X-server Xming
Hi Maite,
I just set my Ubuntu system up last night. The solution for
me was to start XLaunch and on the 3 step (Specify parameter
settings), check the "No Access Control", then save the
configuration file. You will get a warning about using the
'-ac' flag, but it was the only way I could get Xming to work
properly.
Then in my .bashrc file, I added the following lines to
automatically load the display IP address:
export DISPLAY=$(cat /etc/resolv.conf | grep nameserver | awk
'{print $2; exit;}'):0.0
Remember, when you modify the Xming configuration file
through XLaunch, make sure that Xming is not running or the
updated config file will not be saved.
Hope this helps.
Andrew
