Thanks, Horsng Junn. It does seem to be a storage issue.

Subject: Re: [Freesurfer] Issues using curl for FreeSurfer tutorial data

        External Email - Use Caution

Hi Jordan,

Curl is a unix/linux utility that is used to download a file from the web and it has nothing to do with FreeSurfer.

Since curl is somehow failing to save a file, you can try to download the tutorial data just using your web browser.

For example you can paste "MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "secure-web.cisco.com" claiming to be https://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/pub/data/tutorial_data.tar.gz" (without the quotes)

at your browser's address bar and save the result as a file.

(I'm guessing you're following the steps in MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "secure-web.cisco.com" claiming to be http://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/fswiki/FsTutorial/Data.)

Or you might be running low on disk.

In that case, you can try to save disk space by deleting other large files or temporary files for example.

Otherwise you might have other disk related problems.

Please seek help from your local system admin in that case.

Best,

Horsng Junn

Hi FreeSurfer Community,

I was wondering if anyone else has been receiving the error "curl: (23) Failed writing body (8192 != 16384)" when attempting to download the data for tutorials, and if anyone had a solution that worked? I tried to find a fix online, but this issue seems to have many causes. Thanks for any help!

All the best,
Jordan
