Thanks Dr.Bruce, one small clarification then, it is mentioned in the user manual to verify this registration result before proceeding further so when i used tkregister2 --sub2 --fstal-avi i could see two images one is the original and the other one talairach atlas and they looked they are aligned almost closely. So what is this image i looked at?

Hi Venkateswaran,

we don't apply the tal xform,just compute it (in
mri/transforms/talairach.xfm), so there is no volume "after talairach".
