Hi
in the aparc.a2009s atlas several labels correspond to the insula :
- Short insular gyri (G_insular_short)
- Long insular gyrus and central sulcus of the insula were grouped
together (G_Ins_lg_and_S_cent_ins) since the central sulcus of the
insula was not deep enough to be seen on its whole length
there are also 3 labels for the circular sulcus of the insula limiting this region from frontal, temporal and parietal lobes:
-Anterior segment (S_circular_insula_ant)
-Inferior segment (S_circular_insula_inf)
-Superior segment (S_circular_insula_sup)
For a detailed list (table 1) and anatomical description of these
labels, you can have a look to :

cheers

Objet: [Freesurfer] Insula annotation on cortical surface
Hi, does anyone know whether the insula area has an annotation on the cortical surface segmented by FreeSurfer as isthmus, posterior cingulate, etc? Thanks a lot.
Jie
