If you have not already done so, please make sure your license.txt file has been setup in the shell for the freesurfer commands to read.

Go to the URL below, fill out the form, and wait for license.txt to be emailed to the address you provided.
MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "secure-web.cisco.com" claiming to be https://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/registration.html

Download license.txt file,e.g. into your Downloads folder.   Then in bash or zsh you can do,

$ cd $HOME
… download license.txt from email into Downloads folder ...
$ mv Downloads/license.txt .
$ export FS_LICENSE=$HOME/license.txt
$ head -1 $FS_LICENSE
you@somewhere.com   <—— email you used to register

You can add the export command above into your shell init file so FS_LICENSE will be set when you launch a new terminal window.

I can't open freesurfer and I don't know why. It says 'Freesurfer quit unexpectedly'
