You should be able to run 7.2 on top of the 5.3 and at will take all your edits (make a copy of your 5.3 data first:)_______________________________________________

Our lab is moving from FreeSurfer 5.3 to 7.2. We have thousands of scans to do. I see that you can give freesurfer a brainmask. I was thinking of giving freesurfer a brainmask from the previous from 5.3 to 7.1. Is this a wise idea? Do you have any objections?
