Dear List,

Would anyone be able to provide information about the functionality of
mne_make_movie which 'morphs' individual data in the form of .stc files
to a set of points on another surface? The manual is very helpful in
providing information about the steps to do this before creating grand
averages by morphing the data to an average surface, but it would be
helpful to know some details of the methods used to achieve this.

More specifically, does mne_make_movie just use the freesurfer
smoothing/warping/downsampling methods to achieve this, or is this a
different method? My understanding is that the individual data on the
sparsely-sampled cortex is smoothed onto the subject's original white
surface for each hemisphere, then warped onto the cortical model of the
target subject, and then downsampled again. Is this correct?

Finally, if the methods are different from that of freesurfer, would
anyone have the relevant references to hand?

Thanks in advance,

Padraig
