I should preface this by saying that I know very little about filtering.<br>

I observed some strange artifacts when trying to filter my data using method='fft'. I played around with this and found that these artifacts only seemed to be present when I used filter_length < '10s'.<br>

The obvious solution is to use method='iir' or filter_length >= '10s', but I’m wondering if there’s a reason I might expect these artifacts to occur and if we could incorportate a warning into the filter function.<br>
<br>
I've attached an example of these artifacts from a filter length of '1s', with the original signal in blue and the filtered signal in green.<br>
