Dear MNE community,

We are proud to announce the first official release v0.1 of the mne-bids
package. This work follows the recent addition of MEG to the BIDS
<http://bids.neuroimaging.io/> standard and analogous extensions proposed
for EEG and iEEG. Our mission here is to help you work with BIDS datasets
for electrophysiology.

A few highlights for this release:

   -

Functionality to convert existing files into BIDS compatible folders
together with sidecar files (for MEG/EEG/iEEG).
   -

Create filenames and folder structures that abide by nomenclature
   conventions in BIDS.
   -

Utility functions to copy electrophysiology recordings in multifile
systems such as EEGLAB and Brainvision.
   -

Ability to visualize the directory structure before and after conversion
   to BIDS.

As with many open source projects, this package is the aggregated effort of
many dedicated contributors from around the world.

To install this package, use the following command line:

$ pip install -U mne-bids

Bug reports, feature requests, and contributions are more than welcome.

Best wishes,

MNE-BIDS team
