A Postdoctoral Fellow opportunity is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jon
Houck at the Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Research
opportunities include existing behavioral and neuroimaging data on
mechanisms of behavior change in alcohol and other substance use, a large
longitudinal neuroimaging dataset in the area of adolescent substance use,
as well as multimodal neuroimaging datasets of psychosis spectrum
disorders.  Ongoing neuroimaging work in the lab includes
magnetoencephalography (MEG) and functional MRI (fMRI), as well as
non-invasive brain stimulation.  Cross-collaborations are encouraged with
other researchers at MRN, the Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute, and
the University of New Mexico’s Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, and
Addictions (UNM CASAA).

The initial appointment period is one year, renewable for up to three years
of support in total. Primary responsibilities in the initial year will
involve scientific manuscript writing, with opportunities for data analysis
and data acquisition based on the applicant’s experience and interest.
Training in grant writing is available and the researcher will have the
opportunity to participate in NIH proposal preparation. The researcher will
have the opportunity to apply for internal awards to collect new
neuroimaging data and will be encouraged to apply for federal awards
(primarily NIH research project grants) after the initial year.

*Qualifications*
Requires a Ph.D. or M.D. in psychology, neurosciences, or a related field
at the time the position begins, and 2 years of related research experience.

Candidates must also demonstrate high research productivity including a
recent record of relevant first/corresponding author peer-reviewed
publications. Experience with SPSS, Mplus, R, and/or Python is preferred,
as well as with neuroimaging packages including MNE-python and FreeSurfer.
A history of transdisciplinary collaboration is preferred.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated effectiveness and
experience working as part of a large research team, as well as success
performing independent research projects of varying scope.  This position
requires superior professional-level verbal and written communication
skills which are required to effectively perform in the role, as well as
excellent judgment, and problem-solving and decision-making skills. To
