mris_flatten question

Hello, I generated a 3D mesh mode of the marmoset cortex from nissl stained slices, and I am looking for ways to flatten it. I managed to save my mesh to the FreeSurfer format. tksurfer loaded the file and displayed it correctly. I also used "mris_inflate" to blow out the calcarine sulcus. I cut off the occipital lobe with tksurfer and saved the patch. Then I tried "mris_flatten". I got this error message: mris_flatten: could not read surface file subject/xxx/surf/lh.smoothwm I don't have a white matter surface. Is there anyway to bypass lh.smoothwm? I imagined that once I have a inflated surface, flattening should be be a self-contained problem and does not require an additional surface. Why is mris_flatten looking for .smoothwm? Thanx. Ok. Since the -fsv3 flag is now available in stable, I thought that might mean that I could could run selxavg3-sess in stable. It works fine in dev. I'm assuming that commands being run subsequently for group analyses (e.g. isxconcat, mri_glmfit) *can* be run in stable. Overlay significant regions

Hi, We have done our region of interest statistical analysis in Stata and we now would like to display the significant regions over the brain template. I guess we need to have images of each individual region in order to do so. Bus error testing tksurfer on OSX leopard

Hi Guys, I have a problem testing the installation of freesurfer on my new macbook pro, my configuration is: OSX Leopard v. 10.5.6 freesurfer-Darwin-leopard-i686-stable-pub-v4.3.0 when I try: tksurfer bert rh pial (suggested in testing page on the wiki) I receive Bus error message. tkmedit and qdec work!!!! Using the Finder?s Cover Flow mode, a large collection of medical images can be browsed through and quickly inspected just as easy as flipping through your photos. Furthermore, a large number of images can be compared side-by-side by selecting them together in the Finder, then pressing the space bar to bring up the Quick Look preview mode.
