pial surface vs aseg in MTL

External Email - Use Caution Hi- A recurring issue with my recons is that the pial surface excludes the hippocampal formation and associated MTL grey matter structures. A typical image is attached. [image: mtlissue.png] Aseg has clearly captured the location of these structures correctly, as indicated by the coloring in freeview, so I'm wondering: does freesurfer not use the aseg results when constructing the pial surface? If not, can it be made to do so? Is there any workaround other than manual correction of each pial surface? Interestingly, I have never seen freesurfer exclude the ventral midbrain (or thalamus), though it seems to be in an analogous situation. Thanks, Aaron

Virtual box password request

Own VirtualBox FreeSurfer-5.3.0-HCP: Invalid license.txt Error

External Email - Use Caution Dear Experts: I’m getting a problem to install FreeSurfer-5.3.0-HCP in my own VirtualBox installed with Ubuntu. The host machine is Window 10. I’ve also downloaded FreeSurfer license file from FreeSurfer website, and then copied it to $FREESURFER_HOME directory (/usr/local/freesurfer). However, when I attempted to execute “mri_convert” command, the error showing invalid license file came up. Could you please help me solve this issue? Thanks in advance. Best wishes, Sang-Young

Recently, when I filled my personal information in Freesurfer Support List accidently, I received a lot of request emails from different subscribers or questioners. I'm a beginner of FreeSurfer, so I can't answer these questions. Also, these large amouts of email disturbed my daily life. I don't want to receive these emails, but I don't know how to deal with it.
