ERROR: Talairach failed!

External Email - Use Caution Hello FreeSurfer Developers, I'm attempting to compute recon-all -all -subjid XXX -qcache -3T, which works fine with most of my study participants, but for some of them I receive Talairach error (s. error message below): I've searched the list and similar errors have been reported and there is a webpage dealing with this type of error (https://secure-web.cisco.com/1RvZhQl7xG9ZOQtDHxIejsIaxH-Szi0GVQwXNg3elCyaJx…) Yet, tkregisterfv produces also an error, even when I do not set the --surf orig flag (the surf folder of these participants is empty). Running the mritotal utility from the MNI toolset produces the same error. In one participant, the problem was solved when I converted the .nifti file to .mgz and started recon-all from there. But this did not help with the other participants. Including the -notal-check flag allows recon-all to complete, yet I do not know whether the results are trustworthy. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to trouble-shoot this one? External Email - Use Caution Check to make sure that you are not running low on disk space on your C drive.  I would try to keep at least 10 - 30G of free space on your boot (C) drive. If there is no issue with disk space, then it’s possible the Windows “hypervisor” is interfering with VirtualBox.  See the instructions at this URL a little more than half way down the page, about how to Disable Hyper-V in the Control Panel on Windows 10, https://secure-web.cisco.com/1x_usMKyN8ZX9GNmZTRHorph5mDk2mkFj83CH… You should reboot your machine after disabling it. - R. Failed to load MRI error

External Email - Use Caution Dear freesurfer devleopers, I am experiencing an error while loading freeview using the following code: This always worked for me but now when I try to load and view it, a message "failed to load MRI" pops up on freeview after loading T1.mgz. >From the terminal it says: error: mghRead(/Applications/freesurfer/7.2.0/subjects/211025/1079_4/mri/wm.mgz, -1): read error MRIread failed: Unable to read from /Applications/freesurfer/7.2.0/subjects/211025/1079_4/mri/wm.mgz Also, when I check the mri containing file, eg: 1079_4 folder, after loading freeview, the folder contains automatically generated -v and -f file. I have seen a few similar errors on google and mail archive but they did not solve my issue. I would very much appreciate any solution to this. Thank you in advance. Best, HJ

FS 7.2 using ANTs N3

External Email - Use Caution Hi, We've been running some 2-3yo data (1mm isotropic T1s) through the FS 7.2 and are seeing some issues with WM segmentations that appear to be caused by the new ANTS N4 bias correction. We ran the same subjects with just the MNI N3 correction and also configuring FS7.2 to use ANTs N3 correction. Empirically, the output volumes/surfaces look most accurate using ANTs N3 (See outputs below). Infant Freesurfer did not do as well on these data. I just want to confirm that this is an acceptable approach, using ANTS N3 within the FS7.2 pipeline??
