External Email - Use Caution
We have successfully run MiDeFace on our neuroimaging files and it seems like a great option for our purposes (user friendly, easy to implement). However, we have noticed that there are some facial features (nose and mouth) that do not get obstructed on most of our participants who are from a primarily African American sample. We are wondering if other groups are experiencing this too as we are unsure if this is related to our population. If there was any way that we could adjust any settings to obscure these features that would be great, but it appears as though the algorithm could be improved to further obscure some parts of the face.

The algorithm works by projecting the average face inward and outward. In which direction is the problem occurring? Can you send me the log file?

Hi Douglas,
It is not going outward enough. I've attached the log file. Thanks for your help!
