a memory leak in mris_volmask was fixed in v4.5. this leak is very likely the source of the segfault you are seeing. either upgrade to v4.5, or you can get a fixed mris_volmask.bin here:

ftp://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/pub/dist/freesurfer/misc

copy it to your $FREESURFER_HOME/bin dir.

Is there any way to fix this problem?

My computer have 8 cores and 16 Gb of RAM, in general I have been running 6 recon-all jobs concurrently. I'm running this version: freesurfer-Linux-centos4_x86_64-stable-pub-v4.1.0
