 Hello Daniel, Because of system package dependencies, we only provide the binary Debian, rpm and Mac (pkg) installers now.  We’ve learned from experience that it is impractical to troubleshoot what packages will manually need to be manually installed on an end users system after they expand a freesurfer tar archive on their system, i.e., a tar archive is not an installer. - R.
