Dear FreeSurfer experts: I am confused how vertex position is determined. Is the vertex's position on surface is determined? And is the distance between each two vertex the same?

Hi dongyue,
The distance between vertices differs. Roughly speaking, areas with higher curvature show higher vertex density.
As for your first question, I am not sure what exactly you mean, could you explain in more detail what you want to know?
Tim
