External Email - Use Caution

Hello Marie, Are you saying that it works to load or open a file in the freeview GUI, but you see nothing ? Maybe you could tell us if you are running on Linux or the Mac, and maybe the version of the operating system, e.g., linux CentOS7, ubuntu, etc.  I would also be good to know if you are running the 6.0.0 freesurfer release.

On either Linux or the Mac, you could check if X is working with the "xterm" command, and you might also have "xcalc" or "xeyes" commands to see that X graphics are at least OK.
