Hi Everyone,
Two beginner question again.
1. What is the difference between mkanalysis-sess and mkanalysis-sess.new? which one should be preferably used and why?
2. What is the best way to exclude trials from the analysis: a) in the paradigm file define them as a separate condition and this way include them in the GLM analysis and later on ignore them in the contrast analysis? b) exclude the time points of that trial in the tpexclude.dat using the tpexclude flag? c) another way that I have not thought of?
Thanks, Maryam
Hi Maryam, you should be using mkanalysis-sess (the .new version was experimental and should not be used). Any why not use version 5 if you're just beginning? As to your question, it kind of depends on why you are excluding the trials. If the subject moved during the trial, I would use a time point exclude file. If there are a few trials where the subject did not perform properly (eg, did not press the button), then I would code them separately in the parfile. Note that you will need at least one such trial in each subject.
