Dear FreeSurfers,
Hopefully a very easy question . . . I want to compare the volume of subcortical structures in two groups of subjects. All I need to do that is the volume information contained in aseg.stats, right? Just want to double-check before I get started.

yes, that's correct, although you might want to include eTIV as as nuisance variable.

Yes! You may want to also account for the intracranial volume (ICV), which is also in the aseg.stats file
