External Email - Use Caution

Hello FreeSurfer Developers,

I am having trouble opening the updated version of Freeview. I have followed the directions for Linux on the UpdateFreeview site ( http://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/fswiki/UpdateFreeview), but when I get to the last step and type freeview I get the following error:

freeview: symbol lookup error: freesurfer/lib/qt/plugins/platforms/../../lib/libQt5XcbQpa.so.5: undefined symbol: FT_Get_Font_Format

I have not found anyone reporting similar errors online. Does anyone have any thoughts on what this error means and what I can do to fix it?

1) FreeSurfer version: freesurfer-linux-centos7_x86_64-dev-20190416-14809f1 2) Platform: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
