Support of openmp is determined by the compiler used to build the code. gcc4.2 and greater support openmp.

So the centos6 build does support the openmp flag but the centos4 and centos4_x86_64 version of freesurfer do NOT. We do not yet build on centos7 but once we do it surely will support openmp.
