Hello all,
We have a subject whose T1s were collected without the anterior head coil engaged, due to a technical error. The posterior coil collected signal. This was on a Siemens Prisma 3T scanner. Would you expect Freesurfer to still be able to process/segment this data accurately, or is it a lost cause at this point?

it's hard to say. How many coil elements were off? You could try with anterior control points, but you might not be able to include this subject in a group study

Thanks for the input. We use a 32 channel head coil with two elements: an anterior one, and a posterior one. Thus, half of the coil was inactive. I ran the subject through the standard recon -all just to see what happened, and it looks like there were some significant errors (see attached image as an example). I will have to try it with anterior control points on and see if we get a better result. In the end, it looks like we may just have to bring this subject back in to re-do the scan.
