As Marinus mentioned, don’t assume 2 different versions of the operating system will have the same memory footprint when they run; newer versions of operating systems often require more memory to run because of added features, processes, code changes, etc. Likewise, for applications running within the OS, memory and resource management may have changed in the newer Ubuntu22 kernel compared to Ubuntu20 such that physical RAM usage and disk space used when swapping the contents of memory in/out to disk may not result in an application having the same resource usage compared to an older version of the OS.https://secure-web.cisco.com/1BOZ3enPr6AhuGeM5g0qnYf74KqxmJXpSwPDwJywRSpG9yY... - R.
