that looks like a pretty dramatic failure for the surfaces even without considering the skull stripping problem. There are some expert options that can improve this a ton (e.g. mris_make_surfaces -wlo and such). If you would prefer you can upload the whole subject (tarred and gzipped ) and we can figure out better options for you cheers Bruce
