Hi,
My FreeSurfer installation was working fine several months ago, but recently when trying to launch tkmedit or tksurfer (from x11), I got:
GLUT: Fatal Error in tksurfer.bin: could not open display: localhost:0.0 GLUT: Fatal Error in tkmedit.bin: could not open display: localhost:0.0
I tried installing the latest version. Same problem. I'm running Leopard 10.5.6 on a MacBookPro (Intel).
Any ideas/suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks, Cate Hartley
Cate,
With Leopard, you will need to launch the freesurfer apps from the Terminal window (not an X11 window, as you did with Tiger).

Hi Nick,
I get the same GLUT error when I attempt to launch tkmedit or tksurfer from terminal.
Thanks, -Cate

Cate,
When did tkmedit/tksurfer stop working for you? Was a new version of freesurfer installed? Did you update from Tiger to Leopard? Did it start when you run the recent Leopard update to 10.5.6? Did you modify the DISPLAY environment variable?
