Is there any documentation regarding the specifics of the process of subject averaging. Specifically, I am unclear on how the parcellation and cortical thickness is derived for the average subject. Is this information averaged from the input subjects or is it derived from the newly formed average volumes and surfaces?
Thanks Rich
Hi Rich,
we actually have a manual parcellation for our average subject, but we can also derive one automatically using our standard techniques (since they are based on folding patterns). The thickness is *not* computed for the average subject, although you can of course compute the average thickness across a group of subjects and project it onto the average if you wish.
cheers, Bruce
