Hello, Group Could anyone kindly share the method to compare the thickness between left and right hemispheres (vertex-by-vertex)? Did David C. Van Essen use Freesurfer in his article (NeuroImage 28 (2005) 635 - 662) to do the left-right comparison?

I have not read that paper thoroughly, but I'm sure that he did not use FreeSurfer. Bruce and I have been working on a routine to do this, but it is not quite ready yet. Hopefully in a few months.
