Hi everyone,
I was wondering what atlas the white matter parcellation is based on, and if there is an article that describes it. I have articles for the cortical parcellation and subcortical segmentations, but not the white matter segmentation.
One particular question I have regarding the parcellation is why there are large areas of unsegmented white matter.
Thanks, Dana

It is not based on an atlas. It is derived from the cortical parcellation. A white matter voxel is just assigned to a label based on the label of the piece of cortex that is closest too it. The paper is here: https://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/pub/articles/salat_2008.pdf
