Hi guys,
I just wanted to make sure I am understanding everything correct. I have done recon -all -all on all my subjects. Can I now just use the numbers in the .stats files to compare these with my other measures?
It seems to be very (almost too) simple, so I that's why I am checking to see whether I am correct.
Thanks,
Marja
Hi Marja
yes, if you want to compare measures averaged over our predefined ROIs that is all you need to do. Note that for volumes you probably want to include ICT/eTIV as a regressor

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your answer and all your help, I only want to look at cortical thickness for now.
Best,
Marja

Just out of curiosity, if I want to include subcortical volumes, how would I include ICT as a regressor? And why do you need to include it while the normal recon -all -all already provides us with subcortical volumes? (are they not reliable enough?)
Best,
Marja

it would be in your statistical analysis. It's not that they aren't reliabile, it's that the correlation of volume with overall size of the intracranial vault is typically not that interesting and regressing it out makes you more sensitive to e.g. disease effects
