Some people have found Moba X-term, https://secure-web.cisco.com/1ZVDzOuRds29V2esWHXhtFh_3s3wsJpkWd0i5e_OhneoPEY..., easier to setup and test with glxgears compared to using Xming. It’s a good idea to get glxgears to display the spinning gears in an X-Window before trying to run freeview.  Or the display of glxgears can work, but freeview may still display a black/empty screen.  That can be from the graphics card drivers on the Windows host not being up to date or not supporting more recent versions of OpenGL.
