Hi Bruce,
We're using FreeSurfer data from the parcellations to test hypotheses/models from the literature that include such terms as "extrastriate cortex". It is not always defined - but I guess the most common definition would be visual cortex that is not V1, as you suggest. Now, the lateral occipital cortex parcellation seems to me to contain a lot of extrastriate. Would you say calcarine sulcus = V1? And are there other parcellations, in addition to lateral occipital, that contain parts of visual non-V1 cortex? Thank you!
Knut

Hi Knut
Can you be more specific about what you mean by extrastriate cortex? Do you mean all visual cortex that is not V1?

Dear Bruce Fischl
I asked a question on 2021.1.2 about the exstrastriate cortex. Unfortunately, the response I got was a little confusing and didn't really clear it up for me "Including Ron in the conversation. Of course outside striate cortex the mapping between folding and function isn’t so straightforward.". So if you don't mind, I would like to reiterate my question: Which of the desikan-kiliany parcellations correspond to what is termed "extrastriate cortex"? Thank you!
