Is there an easy way to tell what axes row/col/slice corresponds to? Is it correct that row/col are coronal and sagittal and slice is axial ?

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying the fwhm varies across axes? If so, you can pass different fwhms for each axis to mrI_gtmpvc with the --psf-col, --psf-row, --psf-slice options. If you are saying that PSF is space variant, then we don't have good options.
