The beta is the only tracula version with infant processing options (which as you know are currently under development 🙂). ________________________________ From: freesurfer-bounces@nmr.mgh.harvard.edu freesurfer-bounces@nmr.mgh.harvard.edu on behalf of Alexopoulos, Dimitrios dimitriosalexopoulos@wustl.edu Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2020 1:22 PM To: Freesurfer support list freesurfer@nmr.mgh.harvard.edu Subject: Re: [Freesurfer] Tracula FS 6 vs FS 7.1.1

We need to analyze some pilot 2yo datasets and need tracts.
We ‘d like to use FS7, which is giving us better surfaces on the 2yo’s than the current infant FS release.
To clarify, if we wants tracts using the stable FS7.1 release, we should using the tracula.beta instead?

Yes, same. Just FYI, the only "unstable" part of the 7.1.tracula.beta is the tracula part, everything else is from the stable release. But it would only make sense to use if you want to try out the newer features.

Thx Anastasia. I prefer to use the stable releases. So the same diiffusion/tracula inputs for FS 7 as FS 6, for example\
using a generic dmrirc parameter file ?
Best.

Hi Jim - There should not be any differences in TRACULA between recent stable releases. I've been committing the new features described on the wiki to the tracula beta branch on github, so they are available there only. Let us know if you run into any issues!
Anastasia.

Are there any differences in usage /outputs from Tracula in FS 6 vs FS 7.1.1? Specifically as it relates to the customized dmrirc config file?
The wiki mentions a beta version of Tracula in FS. 7.2. Will the general usage be similar to 6/7.1.1?
Jim
