I had a look to bert's labelling ;
The S_subcentral_ant label is not listed as a variable in the /stats/lh.aparc.a2005s output file just because this structure is absent for this subjects on the left hemisphere.
I copied bellow a short description of the region :
The subcentral gyrus, located at the lateral aspect of the brain joined the inferior part of the pre and post central gyri, it was inferiorly limited by the superior part of the circular sulcus of the insula while its superior boundary was the virtual line joining the inferior tip of the precentral, central and post central sulci. The anterior and posterior limits of the subcentral gyrus were two small sulci that may branch from the superior segment of the circular sulcus of the insula or may be independent, or absent : the */anterior/* [S_subcentral_ant] */and posterior/* [S_subcentral_post] /*subcentral *sulci./ The subcentral gyrus was limited from the inferior frontal gyrus (pars opercularis) by the anterior subcentral sulcus continued by a virtual line joining the inferior tip of the precentral sulcus. Similarly, it was posteriorly limited from the supramarginal gyrus by the posterior subcentral sulcus continued by the line running towards the inferior tip of the postcentral sulci.

- Is it possible to add a FieldName index (analagous to the
aseg.stats file) to facilitate detailed accountings of "empty" variables in the ?h.aparc.a2005s files?
