Hi Jeni, Yes it's possible. You could download the most recent version of FS and then just source that version for when you want to use freeview, or copy the freeview.bin over to your current version. If you tell me the OS version you are running I'll send you the proper freeview.bin file.
Just send me the output from this command (after sourcing FS): cat $FREESURFER_HOME/build-stamp.txt

I'm wondering if the latest version of Freeview is available in standalone version. I'm currently using FreeSurfer v5.1's tktools for correcting the recon-all outputs, but would like to switch to Freeview. However the version that I have doesn't seem to have the Recon tools, and if I install the latest FS, I will have to rerun the preprocessing... So is it possible to install the latest Freeview separately?
