The -long option exists in the 'development' environment version of recon-all which hasn't been released publicly yet (as the next stable).
This recon-all script is attached to this email, so that you can see what the -long flag does. Don't copy-over your installed recon-all with this version though because this 'dev' version won't work with the distributed stable environment (although in minor ways that are easy to overcome).
See the help text about longitudinal processing in this recon-all (-help flag).
A tip for new users (and old-hats): the -dontrun flag added to recon- all will show what will run without executing the binaries.
