Usually you get hypointensities in T1w in older patients. Maybe it is some kind of scarring. Does this happen a lot or just this one subject?

The data is from a 1.5T scanner and the participants are old, so right now my Theory is that it's a mix of the bad quality and age-related hyperintensities. But that's only a theory I can't prove which is why I wanted to reject the data but my supervisor wants me to include it.

The only thing that you can really do is to edit to change the intensities in the brain.finalsurfs.mgz, but that is going to be hard. What causes the bright spots?
