Hi all, I just wanted to know if it is acceptable to use the Destrieux atlas in FS for parcellation of brain images of pre-adolescents. If not this atlas, then which would be a recommended atlas to use for this population. Thanks
Hi,
What is the age range of your subjects?

I would say that for 5-8 the atlas would probably work. Below 5 I would be skeptical. There is no alternate atlas at the moment, but we are working on it.

Hi Mher,
Just a bit of clarification in addition to last week's correspondence.
If you are only looking at using the Destrieux atlas and not necessarily the whole FS recon pipeline you might be OK, as the folds don't change much in the age range of your interest. I woudl still monitor the results very closely though as we do not have any experience to tell you what the success rate will be. Also, if you do attempt to use the FS recon pipeline on your younger ones, you might get partial success, but you have to be monitoring each step to make sure no errors are introduced at any step.
