Hi everyone,
I am trying to use qdec for the first time, and I get the following error message:
X Error of failed request: GLXBadRenderRequest Major opcode of failed request: 132 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 1 (X_GLXRender) Serial number of failed request: 1705 Current serial number in output stream: 1709 Locking assertion failure. I am accessing our linux computer remotely using ssh from a windows machine--I don't know if this is related to the problem.
Thanks, Dana

Hi Dana,
are you using vnc or nomachine or something? Have you used qdec in this way before?

I'm not using vnc--just putty ssh. This is my first time using qdec at all. I have no problem using tkmedit through putty ssh. I can try it from the actual machine later today and see if it works, so I will know if this is what's causing the problem.

Hi Dana,
you need something to support the graphics (a local x server). putty ssh from windows by itself has no graphics.

Hi Dr. Moore: I met the same error reported as you posted when I used qdec in our system. Have you already resolved this probelm ? If you have the solution to resolve it, please give me some clues.
Thanks

Hi Zonglei,
The problem was related to the fact that I was accessing another computer remotely to run FreeSurfer, and I needed something to support the graphics. I assume you are also accessing a remote computer? I was using Exceed, which was working fine for tkmedit and tksurfer, but for some reason, qdec did not like Exceed. So I installed WinaXe Plus, and that has been working fine.
Good luck,
Dana
