Hi,
I have a question: at the end of the segmentation (before the manual editing) I found that there are some voxel exceeding the yellow line and I can't figure out if they will be included in the WM count or if they will be included in the GM count. Have I to remove them even if they go over the line?
Thanks
Valentina
Hi Velentina,
the segmentation is just a preliminary estimate of the gray/white boundary. The ?h.white surface (usually displayed in yellow) is the "official and final" estimate and the one you should be worried about.

Hi Bruce, thanks! so if the yellow line is ok I don't need to remove the voxel exceeding or add the voxel missing right? thanks valentina

Hi, I have a question about the two atlas (Desikan-Killiany and Christophe) now available in free-surfer: I was wondering if there is anything published already on cortical thickness of different regions of the brain selected according with each one of the atals. If so, I would love to compare the measurements I got from my normal population. Furthermore, which one is recommended to be used?
Thanks Valentina
Hi Velentina,
which one you use really depends on what part of the cortex you're interested in. Christophe's is more detailed, Ron and Rahul's is a bit more interested in medial temporal lobe.
cheers, Bruce

Hi Valentina,
Yes - as long as the surface (yellow line) is ok there is no need to edit anything.
