Does anyone know whether subcortical segmentation of the amygdala includes the "extended amygdala" (i.e. bed nucleus of the stria terminalis)?
Thanks, Karen

Hi Karen, Currently, the amygdala segmentation wouldn't necessarily cover the BNST (bed nucleus of the stria terminalis), which lies more dorsomedially and separated from the rest of the amygdala by white matter, CSF, & basal forebrain structures. BNST would probably be segmented as either Ventral DC or possibly cortex-unknown. best, Zeynep
