Experts,
I have some snapshots of ROIs made in BrainVoyager (in non-TAL space on inflated brain, as well as ones projected onto TAL space).
I need to take the above as reference and make near-exact ones (ROIs) using Freesurfer on inflated brains. Which one of the above do I use as my reference

sorry, can you give us more details? I don't understand what you are trying to do Bruce On Tue, 7 Jul 2009, Barnali Basu wrote:

Hi Bruce
Sorry for not being clear. let me explain.
My colleague has generated ROIs in 2 spaces using BrainVoyager. One is in non-tal space, on inflated brain (AE_LH_INF.jpeg). The other is projected onto TAL space, noninflated (AE_LH_TAL.jpeg). Both are attached here. Both are essentially on the same subject AE, left hemisphere.
I need to draw ROIs in same location of inflated brain using tksurfer, on same subject AE. I am not sure in which space, the inflated brain of Freesurfer would be in. hence I want to know which one of the attached pics do I take as a reference when I draw the labels in Freesurfer
Thanks for your help

Hi Barnali,
it won't matter. If you run the subject through recon-all you can either draw the label on the inflated surface, in which case we will automatically figure out where it should be in the volume (based on the ?h.white surface), or you can draw it directly in the volume. The surface is probably a lot easier though. cheers Bruce On Wed, 8 Jul 2009, Barnali Basu wrote:

Thanks Bruce. How do I figure out where it should be in the volume based on ?h.white.surface ?

you don't have to - we will. You just draw it on the surface and tksurfer will figure out the volume coords and store them in the label file when you save it. You can then load it in tkmedit to see it in the volume if you want.
